Found this interesting video on YouTube featuring David McAlpine.  He’s a Professor of Auditory Neuroscience and the Director of the UCLA Ear Institute.

At the time of this video he had been living with tinnitus for several years.

He is a well known expert in tinnitus research. 

He doesn’t often share publicly so this is a rare treat to hear from someone who is struggling with the illness talk about some of his own coping strategies and also get his comments on some of the exciting research being carried out including his own.

It’s always interesting to me when someone who is an expert also has the illness they are an expert in.  It’s like they are working from the inside out.

And I want to listen a little more to what they have to say because they’ve been there, experienced it.
